If you want to help with the rescue of oiled wildlife or clean beaches contact Oiled Wildlife Care Network.  Volunteers can work in wildlife rehabilitation facilities, volunteer operations center, and other locations.  If you see oiled wildlife, don't approach or pick it up, instead report it at (415) 701-2311.

In order to handle animals you have to have been pre-trained by an OWCN participating organization.  Training sessions will teach you techniques needed for oiled wildlife care and how to supervise convergent volunteers during a spill response.
