Sailors on a Mission works closely with the teachers of the school located at Children's Hospital & Research Center Oakland.  The goal is to develop educational content which is enlightening to the kids who are patients of Children's Hospital.  Once a month Sailors on a Mission personally delivers entertaining and informative content focused on sailing, marine life, geography, and navigation among other topics.  Getting the kids out of their hospital beds and having them completely captivated by a topic new and fascinating to them frees their imagination and lets their dreams soar.  A very rewarding experience for both the kids and the participants of Sailors on a Mission.

Children's Hospital & Research Center Oakland staff recognizes that success in school is essential to every child’s self-esteem and well-being. That's why educational continuity is part of the recovery plan for every school-aged child hospitalized here.  The School Program is a reassuring bridge between home and hospital, emphasizing the healthy part of a child’s life, reminding kids that they can expect to return to their regular school experience.

If you'd like to help create some fun educational materials for the kids of Children's Hospital & Research Center Oakland please contact Sailors on a Mission.
