Jean-Philippe and Stephane met back in 2003 when they crewed on the same boat for couple regattas. JP and Stephane stayed in touch over the years, mostly seeing each other on the water before the start of a race. In 2006 JP and Stephane did a boat delivery down the California coast and the rest is history... After having completed the Pacific Cup 2006 JP and Stephane started dreaming of new and exciting projects. It all materialized when they met with Peter Guilfoyle and Jeff Duval from Project Life Sail in Kaneohe Bay,HI. In December 2006, JP and Stephane drove to Portland,OR and brought Le Flying Fish (Moore 24), then Keeli Quinn, to the Bay Area. They are now running on parallel their sailing project to race double handed from San Francisco,CA to Kaneohe Bay,HI as part of the Pacific Cup 08 with their campaign to raise funds to improve healthcare for children. Evan Luc, Papa & Segolen | Stephane Plihon comes from a land rich in sailing tradition: Brittany, France. Stephane got the sailing bug as a young boy, following the exploits of sailors such as Eric Tabarly; but he had to wait until he landed in the San Francisco Bay Area 10 years ago to formally learn how to sail. After having sailed dinghies and keel boats around bouys for few years, Stephane decided to see new horizons and shifted his focus towards coastal and offshore racing. In July 2006 he checked off one of his dreams which was to first get to Hawaii by sea when he completed the Pacific Cup. Stephane is a member of the Pacific Cup Yacht Club (PCYC) and the Singlehanded Sailing Society (SSS). | | | | Jean-Philippe | Jean-Philippe was born a landlubber in a major metropolitan area, surrounded by cars and skyscrapers.
